"We’ve taken plenty of “beercations” over the years (mostly self-led), but this was by far the best! It was our first trip back to Germany since serving there in the Army 30 years ago. Gene’s tour was exceptionally well organized; the accommodations, the restaurants, braühauses, craft breweries, the walking-tour guides, the private bus (shout-out to Carsten!), were all first-class! No matter what your knowledge level of beer, you’ll learn a bunch. No matter what style of beer you like, you’ll find one in Germany you’ll love! The diversity of different styles, some of which we don’t get in the States, plus some recent innovations on the traditional styles from the “newer” craft brewers are why Germany - and this Original Gravity Tours tour! - is a must “first stop” for someone wanting to explore the world through beer." "Original Gravity Tours' Munich & Bamberg Brewery Tour was exactly what we had been looking for as an immersion into the German brewing scene and into German brewing history. I am an avid homebrewer and although my wife is not a beer drinker, she is a beer culture enthusiast, and this tour was just a phenomenal fit for both of us. Gene was such a gracious and knowledgable host that he set the tone for a wonderful week of learning, tasting and drinking both classic German styles as well as new and innovative brews from the oldest breweries in the world to some of the newest. The tour was extremely well organized and our small group spent the week getting to know one another, know more about beer, know more about German history and culture and generally relax and enjoy great beer and food at a perfect pace. The scenery along the tour route was absolutely beautiful, allowing us both a taste of the cities of Munich and Bamberg, but also great views and experiences in the countryside of surrounding areas. For anyone interested in brewing, beer culture or both, this tour is a great option. We would love to do it again someday!" Mark & Kris M., Lake Saint Louis, MO 2019 |
"Best trip ever. Tasted 73 different German beers over the course of the trip, many of which could only be sampled on a trip like this, as they are not available anywhere but Germany. Though beer is the main focus, the small group atmosphere, guided walking tours of Munich and Bamberg and historic breweries, churches and beautiful countryside were more than enough to make this a very enjoyable trip for a non-drinker (Lori). If you love travel and you love beer this is the trip for you. Prost!"

"Original Gravity Tours' Munich & Bamberg Brewery Tour was a dream come true for this home-brewer and beer lover! Gene was extremely well prepared, organized and knowledgeable about the area and the local brew scenes. As a repeat tour member, I still learned a whole lot, tasted many beers for the first time, and revisited ones I loved from my first trip ;-). My luggage was stuffed with new beer discoveries for the trip home. Can't wait for my next tour with Original Gravity Tours!" Frank R., San Juan Bautista, CA 2016 & 2019 |

"Thank YOU, Gene, for a great introduction to the Bavarian beer scene and some really great brews, sights, and company! It was really a great experience." Anne B. & Beto Z., New London, CT 2018 Check out Beto's Beer Journal! |
"This tour surpassed our highest expectations! It was wonderful to experience the beers from the large Munich brewers as well as small brewers in Franconia; the smoked beer was unexpectedly wonderful - actually my favorite. I really liked that we were traveling by private bus which seemed to have really uncomplicated the trip. Lastly, the number of guests on the tour was perfect. Thanks for the great introduction to German beers and a fabulous vacation!"

"We had wonderful time on our trip with Original Gravity Tours. Gene put together an awesome itinerary that explored many aspects of Bavarian beer. We visited large and small breweries, enjoyed great German food at a variety of beer halls and gardens, toured a malt processing facility and even visited some hop fields. The group was small which gave us the opportunity to really get to know our fellow travelers. It was well organized, well executed, and everything was included. The perfect tour for beer lovers!" "Gene is perhaps the best tour guide I have ever met. He knows Munich and Bamberg inside out and will introduce you to the best beers these cities have to offer. Transportation during the tour was in a private bus, and the driver added color to the tour with his own stories about locale. Transportation at the beginning and end of the tour was easy with great directions from Gene on getting to and from the local airports. Historical walking tours of both Munich and Bamberg were included and were a great addition to the tour. It was a great week of touring these cities and breweries!" Jonathan R., Huntsville, AL 2018 |
“The ultimate bucket-list beercation! Going to Weihenstephan (the oldest brewery in the world) was awesome, but that was just the start. We also visited Kloster Andechs, Tölzer Mühlfeldbräu (Alpine craft brewery) Schneider Wieisse, Weltenburger Kloster, Schlenkerla, and Weyermann Malts, and finished the week sampling beers at several very small countryside breweries outside of Bamberg. A great trip for any beer lover!

“I had traveled extensively throughout Europe but never to Munich or Germany until we took this tour. Wow! We never realized how beautiful and how much fun Bavaria is. Original Gravity Tours brings local and brewing history alive and makes you feel like a real 'Münchener'.”
